Water - clean and sustainable!

Let me present our blue buddy! This water filter was one of first things we bought since moving to Laos and it is definitely one of our most valuable items here at home. It's great. And so blue!

According to Terra Clear 43 % of the population lack adequate access to improved drinking water. Here in the capital access is not a problem but it is up to you how to get clean water. In my eyes this filter is one of the most sustainable ways of having access to clean water at home. Let me explain why:

1. No need for buying bottled water. Plastic bottles create huge amounts of trash!
2. No need for ordering 20 l-containers every week. Less transport means less impact on environment.
3. You don't need to carry water bottles or handle containers!
4. In the long run it is cheaper than buying drinking water.
5. Terra Clear is a social enterprise located in Laos and giving work to local staff.
6. Used on the countryside, there is no longer a need for boiling water. Using firewood or charcoal leads to deforestation and has a negative environmental impact.

The Terra Clear water filter is a ceramic water purifier which reduces bacteria by up to 99,99 %. Only clean water passes through fine pores of the ceramic material and microbes are killed by silver which is infused in the filter. It works without electricity and doesn't require any technical maintenance. The only thing you need to do is to refill water. Easy, cheap and sustainable!
